Binance sets a blockchain hub in Georgia

The platform will focus on educational projects and attracting new talent to the crypto industry

Binance has announced about opening a new regional hub in Georgia, calling the country one of the most innovative in the region and expressed a willingness to actively develop the crypto industry.

“The opening of the hub in Georgia is a logical continuation of the dialogue that we started with the government last year. Thanks to the hub, we will strengthen the development of the recruiting program in the country, as well as make an even greater focus on the regional presence of Binance,” said Binance’s Georgia general manager Giorgi Chagelishvili.

As part of the initiative, Binance is looking to increase talent acquisition, promote blockchain education, and accelerate crypto adoption in the region. At the moment the local Binance team comprises 25 people with “dozens more jobs” to be added by the end of 2023.

In November 2022, Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) met with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and the local business and crypto communities. And earlier this year the company signed MOUs with five local universities. It also partnered with the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) to support Binance’s large-scale educational and community projects designed to accelerate the development of the digital-asset industry in Georgia.

Last year Binance also made some advances in Kazakhstan after CZ’s meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, where they discussed collaboration in the field of blockchain and crypto education. The exchange signed a partnership with state authorities to launch blockchain courses at local education facilities.
